A New Leaf’s homeless shelters are a critical resource for those experiencing the housing crisis that is devastating our community. These shelters provide everything, including safety, basic needs, and comprehensive services that support vulnerable families and individuals in Arizona. A New Leaf’s rental and utility assistance programs provide a variety of resources to help vulnerable households avoid homelessness, or secure housing after becoming homeless. This allows a household to stabilize much faster and prepare for future financial challenges, greatly improving their chance of success. Desert Leaf Apartments are a 19-unit permanent supportive housing complex, developed specifically to serve families or individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or severe mental illness.
The resource center is currently open to refer households to community programs, but shelter units will open in Spring 2023. A New Leaf’s East Valley Men’s Center provides shelter and support services to single men, the largest homeless population in Arizona and the population that struggles most to find assistance. The Village is an expansion of A New Leaf’s services to better serve individuals with developmental disabilities and autism living in Green Country. Daily Living Supports meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities living in their own homes in the community for up to 24 hours per day. But, we cannot do this without the support of the public, the local Churches, the non-profits and the many individuals that are affected by incarceration in their own families. Group homes offer living arrangements for 6 to 12 people who share a home and receive up to 24 hours per day of support and training in daily living skills.
